Not just a desk lamp!!

Can you keep a secret? My 5 year old is afraid of the dark.

He doesn't want anyone to know. Its so cute and pitiful. The only way I figured it out was one night it had gotten darker than usual by the time they were getting to bed. I heard him sobbing. Literally, sobbing in his bed. It was heartbreaking! He wouldn't tell me what was wrong. I wracked my brain. I felt so helpless.

Then it happened again a week later. Exactly the same situation and the same reaction. I got him a flashlight and turned on the hall light. He was able to settle down and get to sleep. Poor baby!

When I saw this dimmable lamp with a clamp, I knew it would be perfect for him!

When it came I clamped it to his bed. He tested it out. It is really easy to operate, just by gliding your hand over the top it turns on. It is really the ideal solution for him.

Overall, this is a great lamp. The neck is very flexible. The lamp head even comes off if you need it to by just unscrewing the joint. It becomes a handheld flashlight or a camp light.

You can set the brightness to suit your situation. It even has a built in memo0ry function so that it returns to the last setting you used. How awesome is that?!

Don't let the multiplying cables and cords control your life!

I have a thing about wire and cables and cords hanging and dangling everywhere, it really pisses me off!

 

Now, since everyone in the house has at least one tablet and/or phone and they ALL need to be charged daily. Daily charging means that the cords can never be put away. There can never be just one or two cords.

I had to find a way to at least feel like I am in control of this situation. The cables and cords will not control my world!

Then I found the answer. Cable clips!

These little guys attach with a 3M adhesive backing to any surface. I have a few on the table next to my bed. That place is where cables go to multiply! It has become a bit shameful, honestly.

They are super easy to put on any surface. They hold your cords in place so that when you need them you aren't like me crawling under the damn bed to find the end of the plug. Its waiting for you right where you left it.

But don't stop with corralling cables! You can use these to hold your pen in place. Use it for headphone wires.

These handy dandy little guys keep things neat and orderly. One more crisis averted!

Burgers made easy!

Around our house we eat a lot of burgers. With summer comes grillin' and that means even more burger eatin'!

 

I really like my new Kogood hamburger press. This thing makes the perfect sized patties everytime!

 

This isn't your average burger maker. You form the burger squish it with the press and you can leave it at that and pop it out by pushing the bottom up. Or you can get crazy and put some deliciousness on top and then add some more meat and finish it off with the press. Everything is all squished together and ready for the grill.

 

But hang on, we also like sliders, you know those little burgers. My kids really like them, they fit perfectly in their hands. This press has a slider former too! The bottom pushes the formed patty right up to the top without it tearing apart.

 

 In addition to all of that greatness, I also appreciate the fact that all of the pieces fit inside of each other for storing.

Practice makes Mom Tired!

Both of my boys love playing soccer. Since they are boys, they are VERY competitive.  They want to be the best at everything. I love that but I don't love playing soccer myself!

 

This soccer trainer is perfect! They are both able to use it although it is pretty loose on Liam, he's 5.

 

By using this it helps to improve their reflexes and improves their control.

My 8 year old has recently become interested in learning tricks. Its pretty exhausting chasing the ball around. He tends to get frustrated and ends up mad. With this trainer, he is able to keep the ball close by and just pull it in  with the strap and keep working on his moves.

We used this with a size 3 ball and it popped out almost constantly. The number 4 ball would bounce out with a strong kick but mostly stayed in. The number 5 ball even popped out after a strong kick. We had the straps around the ball as tight as it would go to try to avoid the issue but nothing seemed to help.

Every Dad could use another watch!

Every guy I know has a thing about watches. I don't know what it is about watches, it must be like girls and shoes.

Anytime I see a nice looking watch that is on sale ("on sale" was the key) I pick it up for my hubby.  This watch is very reasonably priced. Right now its under $20 on Amazon! It definitely does not LOOK or FEEL like a cheap watch.

I realized that of all the watches that he owns, none have a brown band. This one is really nice looking with a brown leather band. 

It has a large round display with rose toned gold trim and accents on a white dial.

This is a great everyday watch. It is light weight and comfortable.

WHY hasn't anyone told me about Biotin before!?

Dad ALWAYS needs a new belt!

I was impressed from the start with this leather belt.

It came wrapped in tissue and curled in a really nice tin gift box. 

The belt is just under 1.5 inches thick. The leather is really soft with a cross grain leather with a matte finish. 

The buckle is solid it feels heavy and is polished nickel. 

The belt is simple and classic. It looks great with dress pants or a pair of jeans.

This would make a great gift for any guy, you really can't go wrong with this belt!

Lets get the Painting Started!!

Painting is a great way to relax and unwind. I enjoy following along with an instructor to create something I never would have been able to do on my own.

I like having canvases on hand in case the urge strikes. Really, more like if the moment presents itself. I would paint or draw everyday if I had the time.

This 6 pack of canvases is great! Now, if I want to paint I can prop one up for either or both of the kids and they can create a masterpiece along with me! 

I was nervous about opening them and having the extras get ruined. I was relieved when I unwrapped them to find that each canvas is individually wrapped. Crisis averted!
